Datateam Business Media, publishers of CIE magazine, have announced the return of the Electronics Industry Awards supported by the Electronics Magazine and ecsn. The event is designed to reward the outstanding people, products and business practices within the electronics industry, with award winners being announced at this year’s luncheon in the prestigious Tower Hotel, London on Friday 21st June. Building on the success of the inaugural event, this year’s awards do not only have a new location but a new format as well.
Commenting on the awards’ exciting new format, event manager Amy Wilton says: “We have listened to the feedback from last year’s event and implemented it to make the Electronics Industry Awards 2019 the best it can be. The new decision-making system means that the awards will go even further to recognise excellence and the luncheon will give attendees the chance to network with industry professionals and key clients for longer. And, what better setting to do it in! The Tower Hotel is the perfect location to host an event that will bring together and spotlight the outstanding areas of the electronics sector.”
With the deadline for entries and nominations having been extended due to overwhelming industry demand, now is the time for companies and individuals to enter into the relevant categories on the Electronics Industry Awards website. Here it is also possible to nominate other companies or individuals that you feel deserve recognition for their hard work. Both entries and nominations are completely free of charge, and can be submitted via the same online form until Friday 15 March.
Subject to meeting the necessary criteria, each entry and nomination will then proceed to the decision making process. This year, you will have the chance have your say in the product and individual categories where your votes will be combined with the opinions of expert judges. The votes cast online will be tallied alongside the judge’s scores to decide a shortlist and ultimate winner in each category. However, winners for each of the business awards with be solely decided by you, the industry. Mike Maynard, managing director of Napier – one of the companies sponsoring the event – explains that supporting the Electronics Industry Awards is important because they are “the only awards to be voted on by the industry”, emphasising that this event is unlike anything else in the sector.
A mix of online votes and judges opinion will decide the winners for: ‘Aerospace/Military/Defence Product of the Year’, ‘Automotive Product of the Year’, ‘Display Product of the Year’, ‘Enclosure Product of the Year’ and ‘Engineering Development/Design Tool of the Year’. As well as these awards, ‘Interconnection Product of the Year’, ‘Internet of Things Product of the Year’, ‘Power Product of the Year’, ‘Test, Measurement & Inspection Product of the Year’ and ‘Embedded Solution Product of the Year’ will also be decided in this manner. Similarly, the prestigious ‘Industry Personality’ award will be determined by combining the views of industry professionals with those of the expert judges.
The business categories on offer include: ‘Distributor of the Year’, ‘Electronics Manufacturer of the Year’, ‘Excellence in Innovation’, ‘Environmental Leadership’, ‘Best Customer Service’, ‘Academic Support’ and ‘Most Outstanding PR Agency’. A shortlist and ultimate winner for these awards will be exclusively decided by the voting process.
The winners will be revealed on Friday 21 June 2019, when those in attendance will get the chance to network with industry peers, enjoy a delicious two-course meal and attend the prestigious awards ceremony. In the prized setting of The Tower Hotel, the winners will be announced; giving those at the event the chance to celebrate the innovation and excellence of the sector. Having been organised to take place during the day, the event is optimised to give attendees more time to network with industry professionals.
