Company: Fischer Connectors
Category: Interconnection Product of the Year
With 7 or 4 power & signal contacts, USB 2.0 and Ethernet, the Fischer LP360™ (from Fischer Freedom™) is a compact, versatile plug & use connector. Since its initial launch in 2018, the Fischer LP360™ has won multiple innovation awards – including the EIA Interconnection Product of the Year in 2019. Continued enhancements and developments to the connector through its design and engineering enable it to serve as not only an interconnection product – plug and receptacles – but also as an innovative network and device enabler for wearables and the Internet of Humans (IoH).
With patent-pending features in locking design (360° mating freedom) and material (IP68 sealing membrane), it is easily extended into miniaturized wearable devices (sensors, bodycams, LEDs, dongles, etc) and integrated into flexible structures (e.g. smart vests) and networked IoT and IoH ecosystems, enabling data from humans in a work community to be monitored remotely, thereby enhancing safety, health and productivity.
Rugged and ultra-easy and intuitive to use, the LP360 offers customer-centric ergonomic design and affordance while facilitating setup and reducing weight and reliability burdens: blind mating, no key code, low profile, non-magnetic, emergency-release locking mechanism, IP68 sealing and flat contact surface for water-, dust- and sand-proofing and easy cleaning, EMI shielding. The LP360 plug quickly snaps onto the receptacle, integrated into a connected vest to build a hub. SMART!
