MonoDAQ is a start-up Slovenian company dedicated to simplifying test and measurement tasks such as measuring acceleration, force, pressure and temperature. The company’s distributed measurement architecture is simple to use, comprising MonoDAQ distributed modules which are placed close to sensors, eliminating lengthy cabling and improving signal fidelity. EtherCAT communications and powerful, easy-to-use software make implementing a MonoDAQ measurement network quick, easy and low cost.
Launched in July 2018, the MonoDAQ E-ACC accelerometer amplifier is a small, compact device in a robust aluminium housing consisting of analogue front end with 18 kHz alias-free bandwidth, 24 bit ADC converter with up to 40 kS/s sample rate and EtherCAT interface. The EtherCAT protocol is a key factor in enabling large distances between devices – up to 50 m node-to-node. Devices are simply daisy-chained with a single network cable that carries signal and power. Synchronization below 1 µs is ensured along a virtually-unlimited chain of MonoDAQ E-ACC devices.
Each MonoDAQ-E device has a fully isolated front end with high dynamic performance as well as TEDS support for sensor auto-recognition.
MonoDAQ E-ACC devices come bundled with the powerful DEWESoft software which enables engineers without specialist electronics knowledge to be able to measure their phenomena of interest – usually acceleration, force, pressure, temperature, etc. Analogue, digital, GPS and video signals can be measured in the same environment and synchronized without any customization – no programming is needed to make a high-fidelity measurement.
An installation utilising these revolutionary MonoDAQ E-ACC accelerometers facilitates distributed acceleration and vibration measurements, saves costs and increases the accuracy of acceleration and vibration measurement by enabling the module to be placed near the sensor, eliminating the need for long analogue cabling.
