Most Outstanding PR Agency
BWW Communications is a full service marketing agency which has been established for over 30 years. It operates worldwide, with personnel in the UK, Germany and the US (East Coast, Colorado and California) and partner organisations in China, Korea and Japan.
BWW Communications serves a number of technology market sectors including electronics, semiconductors, electric vehicle technologies, artificial intelligence, electrical components, test & measurement and electronic and electrical component distributors. All BWW Communications senior management and client-facing personnel have extensive, specialised experience and knowledge of the markets the agency operates in, having worked within marketing and PR functions in major companies within those fields or as editors in relevant media. As a specialist agency, BWW Communications is able to offer its clients technical know-how and knowledge of global media that ensures campaigns are developed and executed to deliver results in a timely, effective and cost-efficient manner to meet business objectives.
During the past twelve months which has seen such significant unforeseen global challenges, BWW has successfully not only retained its clients but has been successful in acquiring new ones. Notable among these are:
Blaize – AI ICs and platform solutions; Zuken – PCB design software; MikroE – low cost development Click boards
PR billings increased by 7.5%, advertising up by 20%, offsetting losses in exhibition revenue which has – of course – been badly hit by the pandemic. So business has expanded, even as like every other company, BWW has had to get used to remote working, holding all meetings over Zoom and Teams with clients and internally. Holding a remote team together in a supportive, cohesive way while generating and delivering creative, effective, engaging campaigns for clients has in fact proved to be something that BWW has found a major strength in, and this resulted in February of this year with the agency moving to a hybrid model – there is still a Thames Valley office in the UK, but personnel go in if they prefer or if strictly necessary, the remainder of the time; working from home/remotely is now permanent.
Engaging with virtual online events instead of face-to-face has been challenging for us as an agency and also for our clients, especially owing to the differences in what is possible with different platforms events are held on and the variation in materials, engagement with visitors and other aspects they allow. Despite the sometimes steep learning curve and tight deadlines, BWW clients have successfully helped clients to exhibit virtually throughout 2020 and on into 2021. For major client, Power Integrations, BWW reacted very quickly by pulling together a virtual event in one week, centred around product videos. For a med tech client, LMD, we also prepared videos, papers, and full PR support for the first-ever virtual CES 2021.
Virtual press conferences have also become the norm and these have been held for launches and major announcements globally across time zones for clients, resulting in wide-ranging coverage that delivers global publicity and keeps BWW’s clients at the forefront of media in their target geographical markets. Online seminars have also ramped up and again, BWW has organised these for clients in subjects ranging from cyber security to power semiconductors and electric vehicles.
BWW’s many friends and contacts in the media know we deliver high quality technical articles, PRs, whitepapers, opinion pieces and more that are meticulously detailed, checked and delivered translated. To make life a little easier, save the trawl through burgeoning inboxes and for pure convenience, BWW’s website has added an editors-only portal where materials can be downloaded and the latest client news accessed in one place. A ticker also runs on our web with interesting industry and scientific news.
“2020 and into 2021 has been difficult for everyone”, commented BWW CEO Nick Foot, “but I am very proud of the way our team has reacted. Their flexibility, commitment and willingness to get stuck in and learn new skillsets has meant that we have been able to offer both clients and media an expanded range of services to meet the new challenges.”
