The 2019 HBR Survey of directors, CEOs and senior executives found that Digital Transformation (DT) risk was their #1 concern. Yet, 70% of all DT initiatives fail because they lack the appropriate tools. (Digital Transformation Is Not About Technology by Benham Tabriz, HBR March 13, 2019)
H Robotics offer rugged and modular autonomous vehicles that retrieve data in the air (our HiSight aerial drone), on land (our LoSight terrain vehicle) and on water (our HydroSight marine vessel). These autonomous vehicles allow firms across many industries to easily digitize their assets and to save lives, time, data and money.
HiSight is a truly innovative electronic product. Most drones were designed as retail consumer toys. H Robotics make industrial tools. We give industrial clients an easy and reliable way to remotely and autonomously acquire, assimilate and analyse the data from their remote assets. HiSight lets them make 3D models of any asset at any time. Most aerial drones are single purpose. HiSight is open-architecture and allows clients to deploy whatever new innovations in hardware, cameras, sensors, devices, accessories (within payload limits) and analytic software they need. In other words, we provide firms with a versatile aerial platform that makes them future proof.
HiSight’s modularity extends to flight characteristics. Most drones are single purpose. Our arms snap on and off, which allows clients to pick the flight characteristics they need for a particular mission. Our standard lift arms carry 1 kg of payload – cameras, sensors, devices. Our heavy lift arms carry 3kg of payload. We offer octocopter arms, Search and Rescue arms and we are developing a wing that will offer 2 hours of flight time. We also deliver the data over multiple pathways – wifi, networks, via ethernet cables, on SD cards. HiSights can work on multiple frequencies including police and Blue Light frequencies as well as military frequencies. They can deploy off the shelf batteries in varying sizes depending on their needs or they can rely on a power tether.
Most drones cannot handle real weather very well. HiSight was designed in and for British weather. It handles driving rain, freezing cold, high winds and even desert heat.
The great advantage is that firms no longer need to pay for expensive external pilots or for costly external software analytics providers because HiSight empowers in house staff. It allows them to problem-solve and to manage the analytics themselves. This also eliminates the need to move proprietary data outside the company where it is vulnerable to leakage.
It allows industry to easily digitize and remotely manage their global assets in real-time by relying on our centralized fleet management approach. Most drones are single purpose, don’t talk to each other and offer no centralized fleet management or real-time data sharing. With HiSight, all the data and digital assets. like 3d scans, analytics and comparisons can be seen and shared via smart devices for real-time management collaboration. We also provide augmented reality glasses VR Goggles for a more visceral understanding of their assets as well. We are working with BT who will use our drones to carry 5G into the sky as well offering faster access into the cloud. Intel’s processing power can now be harnessed via our systems, allowing clients to process their data in 20% of the time alternatives offer.
Now, construction firms no longer need to send a person up to the 30th floor of a building site to see why a beam sheared off. Mining firms no longer need to ask a human to expose themselves to highly toxic tailings dams to get the necessary measurements. Ports are now able to monitor the condition of their infrastructure without needing a person to go out on the water. Police Search and Rescue missions can now be done much faster and more accurately because the team can see what the drone above is seeing and deliver this situational awareness on a smart device. They can digitize the original accident site immediately and have clarity down to I centimetre per pixel for the forensic investigation. Humanitarian organizations are now able to identify and de-fuse huge land mines in war zones without needing to rely on a human to do this dangerous work manually.
Our technology transforms how business works in many ways. McKinsey has estimated that the introduction of drones will bring an annual cost savings of $100b annually but that can’t possibly include the cost of a life saved, which is priceless. Whenever our drones are used to avoid putting a human in a dangerous or toxic place, the contribution to safety and wellbeing is almost immeasurable. In addition, now business people have the ability to have eyes on-site for assets that are on the other side of the world. The situational fluency is unrivalled to anything they’ve previously known. No more guessing. Now they can immediately see, undertake compare/contrast analyses and make real-time decisions about what to do without needing to get on a plane or having to drive somewhere. The digitization of their assets using autonomous vehicles also gives them a baseline which more easily reveals slow-moving problems over time that the naked eye cannot discern. The creation of standardized and repeated pathways that autonomous vehicles routinely follow is the foundation for introducing AI and machine learning. Random manual pathways for gathering data just cannot provide the comparability that such sophisticated software tools require to work well. Manually piloted retail consumer drones do not permit firms to achieve the kind of digitization that is essential for the introduction of these software tools. Ours do. They are more capable than any others because of their modularity, because of their ruggedness, because of our focus on making the digital assets available in a searchable library that can be accessed and shared via smart devices. It is far easier to do all this if firms can data gather in all environments using autonomous vehicles that work on land, air and water, as ours do.
We are already serving clients across most of the key drone verticals: oil/gas, mining, construction, port management, humanitarian work and telecoms.
