Test, Measurement & Inspection Product of the Year
Product Name: Moku:Pro
Company: Liquid Instruments
Entry Statement
Moku:Pro, developed by Liquid Instruments, is the next step in the evolution of software-defined instrumentation. Moku:Pro introduces a unique combination of flexibility, performance and ease-of-use to deliver an integrated platform for engineering and research labs .
Moku:Pro brings test and measurement into the modern age by allowing engineers and researchers to dynamically switch between instruments rather than needing multiple stand-alone devices. Moku:Pro hosts more than 10 powerful instruments, including an oscilloscope, lock-in amplifier, PID controller, phasemeter, arbitrary waveform generator, data logger, spectrum analyzer, frequency response analyzer, waveform generator and digital filter box, in one compact device. Using a revolutionary field-programmable gate array (FPGA)-based approach and partial reconfiguration, Moku:Pro is reconfigurable in an instant and software-upgradeable.
Unlike previous software-defined instruments, by deploying instruments in FPGA Moku:Pro is able to achieve high-speed, real-time measurements and control, and route signals internally via low-latency, lossless interconnects rather than physical cables.
Advanced ADC blending technology ensures that each instrument can function with optimal sensitivity from acoustic to RF frequencies without compromising performance for flexibility. Full connectivity via Wi-Fi, Ethernet, and USB-C ensures hassle-free configuration. Additionally, the device offers an intuitive, touch-optimized UI with wireless control and display, and supports Python, Labview and MATLAB APIs.
Moku:Pro’s unique Multi-Instrument Mode gives users the ability to run multiple instruments simultaneously on a single device. Instruments can be combined to effectively create software-defined test systems with easy configuration and synchronization between instruments. Moku:Pro also offers Moku Cloud Compile, a cloud-based tool allowing users to directly program its FPGA and deploy custom code. With this capability, users can implement unique signal processing algorithms and create their own custom instruments, further widening the gap with conventional hardware.
With MokuPro, engineers and scientists will have the instrumentation they need to streamline their setup and accelerate project timelines. The platform was designed to meet the needs of researchers and developers in a variety of fields, from aerospace to semiconductor. In addition to electronic testing, Moku:Pro’s instrument suite is particularly suited to optics and photonics applications, including spectroscopy, microscopy, optical metrology, active laser stabilization, and quantum computing. As researchers in engineering and physics face constantly evolving requirements, with changes occurring on timescales much shorter than the lifespan of test equipment, Moku:Pro’s software-enabled-hardware architecture allows it to continuously improve to meet the needs of users as their applications evolve. This level of versatility and performance is simply not possible with conventional test equipment.
Moku:Pro is a new kind of test platform, which will only become more powerful as FPGA technology continues to improve. A unique, multi-purpose device that is revolutionizing the test and measurement space while enabling new applications and innovations, Moku:Pro is a great choice for Test, Measurement & Inspection Product of the Year.
