Entry Statement
Product overview
IT7900 Regenerative grid simulator is a programmable, four-quadrant AC/DC power source. It has high power density, 15 kVA in 3U height. The wide range of power output from 5 kVA to 960 kVA enable it to fulfill various test requirements. IT7900 is also a four-quadrant power amplifier, which can be applied to P-HiL test and the test of many different grid-connected equipment. Besides single- phase and three-phase output, it also has reverse phase as well. Under the reverse phase mode, it can reach double voltage output. It has working mode of CC, CV, CP. With the unique islanding mode (RLC settable), just a single unit of IT7900 can realize the anti-islanding protection test. Furthermore, it supports regulatory testing include IEC61000-4-11/4-13/4-14/4-28 and so on. The typical applications of IT7900 include the power test of PCS, energy storage system, microgrid, BOBC (V2X), PHiL, etc. One of the advantages of IT7900 is the power regeneration. An ordinary AC source only simulates grid disturbances and cannot absorb the returned power, but IT7900 does. It can work in four quadrants (positive/negative voltage/current). Therefore, IT7900 can not only meet all the test requirements of an AC source, but better matched with the test of grid- connected DUTs. Another important innovation of IT7900 is the integration capability. It has integrated functions of anti-islanding protection, power measurement, waveform display and data analysis in one unit, which largely saves your cost and space. Extra high-power density plus multiple functions, IT7900 is definitely a right choice for you.

Description of the product’s purpose, unique design, innovative technology, competitive advantages:
IT7900 regenerative grid simulator is a power test instrument especially designed for simulating power grids. It is much more than an ordinary AC source. An AC source only simulates grid disturbances and cannot absorb the returned power, but IT7900 does. It can work in four quadrants (positive/negative voltage/current). Therefore, IT7900 can not only meet all the test requirements of an AC source, but better matched with the test of grid-connected DUTs, such as grid-connected PV inverters, energy storage converters, and so on.
IT7900 is a grid simulator that represents a new generation of power electronics technologies. It adopts the third-generation semiconductor SiC components. It is only 1/3 size of a conventional grid simulator, but its output power can reach up to 960kVA, which has the highest power density among similar products on the market. In addition, IT7900 can feed back power to the grid, realize energy regeneration, help to reduce carbon emissions and protect the environment as well.
Microgrid photovoltaic energy storage is one of the most important application fields of IT7900. It is mainly used in the testing of power modules such as energy storage converters, wind energy converters and PV inverters. In order to simplify the test bench, improve test efficiency and save costs, IT7900 integrates the functions of multiple devices into one. This is also the innovation that distinguishes IT7900 from competing products.
A unique function of IT7900 that is worth mentioning is the “Anti-islanding protection”. It is one of the items in the test of grid-connected inverters. Generally, to test a grid-connected inverter, you need to use a PV simulator, an RLC anti-islanding load, a grid simulator, a power meter and an oscilloscope. With the built-in “anti-islanding protection” function, IT7900 has actually integrated a “RLC anti-islanding load” and “grid simulator” in one. You can configure the RLC, or active power and reactive power of each phase, to simulate the linear and non-linear loading of the grid. Besides, it also has a built-in power meter as well. It can measure harmonics, power factor, crest factor, etc. The voltage accuracy can reach 0.1%+0.1%FS, and the current accuracy can reach 0.1%+0.2%FS. So instead of purchasing several different test equipment, just one unit of IT7900 can fulfill all your test requirement. With many functions in one, IT7900 is an advanced test instrument that can help on the research area of microgrid photovoltaic energy storage.
IT7900 adopts modular design, and modules can be connected in parallel to achieve higher power. In the parallel connection, IT7900 uses patented technology of ‘optical fiber parallel’. It well guarantees that the communication between the modules is still stable after paralleling, and perfectly avoid easy interference in the communication between the modules in the traditional paralleling method. Combined with internal loop control, the overall performance after paralleling is exactly the same as that of a single unit and no decreasing of any performance indications.
An IT7900 stand-alone unit has not only single-phase/three-phase output mode, but also “multi-channel” mode. It can be connected to three single-phase DUTs at the same time which improves equipment utilization largely.
Another breakthrough of IT7900 regenerative grid simulator is that it turns the complicated test to simple and can be done in one instrument. With easy operation, you can have powerful data analysis. The touch screen design allows users to slide the screen and switch interfaces, as convenient as doing it on a mobile phone. Previously, touch screens of similar instruments often needed to be used with a capacitive pen. IT7900 are dedicated to improving the analysis capabilities of waveforms and data for engineers, rather than just displaying basic measurement parameters. Through the 5-inch color display, engineers can not only view the measurement data, but also observe the real-time waveform of the DUT through functions such as oscilloscope, vector diagram, and trend. At the same time, it can continuously record up to 7Hrs of data at 100ms intervals. This provides sufficient data support for studying the abnormal points in the characteristics of the DUT over a period of time.
