Red Pitaya has recently been focusing on developing products for more sophisticated industrial applications. This year, Red Pitaya is launching the new STEMlab 125-14 X-Channel System, which is based on the company’s best-selling product, the STEMlab 125-14.
STEMlab 125-14 is a multifunctional, open-source software-defined test instrument that solves many of the problems engineers and researchers face with its affordability and exceptional performance, all while being small enough to carry in your laptop bag. Because it is an open-source device there is no license fee, and users can customize it to meet their needs indefinitely. A developer or researcher who uses a lot of different instruments for their work can replace many expensive instruments with a STEMlab 125-14, such as an oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, logic analyzer, LCR meter, Bode analyzer and Vector Network Analyzer. By having one small device with so many functionalities, every engineer can set up their own lab in their home garage. STEMlab 125-14 can replace many expensive lab instruments with its numerous free applications, and due to its small form factor and reconfigurability helps companies and research institutes slash their testing, R&D and prototyping costs. The new STEMlab 125-14 X-Channel System was created as a direct response to our community, which requested multi-channel signal generation and acquisition. Red Pitaya’s X-Channel streaming software provides the ability to stream analog and digital signals to client PCs from several Red Pitaya devices simultaneously, with a synchronized clock and trigger among all the Red Pitayas in the system. Streaming can be done in both directions. Users can thus stream the analog and digital signals acquired from Red Pitaya devices to a client computer, or stream analog and digital signals from the client to the Red Pitaya devices’ outputs. The X-channel streaming software also provides the ability to control streaming completely remotely from client PCs.
Applications that can benefit from or use a multi-channel acquisition system are:
– applications that require the synchronous collection of signals from multiple sensors locally or in remote locations
– applications that required monitoring of signals at multiple points to understand its health or predict failures or future behavior of the device
